Last Friday, the 21st of October 2011, an attempt was made to break the world record for the longest LEGO® Technic chain reaction. The record attempt was an initiative of Maico Arts (43). In his daily life he works on office automation, but for the last 33 years LEGO has been taking up an important part of his spare time. Half an hour before the LEGO WORLD RECORD attempt we were given the chance to interview him!

A new world record!
This afternoon the world record attempt was finally made! Thousands of enthusiastic kids and parents were walking around in the sold-out IJsselhallen in Zwolle. In the back hall, an enormous chain reaction was constructed within a large, fenced-off stand. It consisted of trains, forklifts, conveyor belts, catapults, windmills and much more than you can even imagine. All day it was quite busy at the stand, but around 2 pm even more interested people showed up to have a look. In the meantime, the builders continued to solve blockages and pick up balls that had gone off track.

LEGO attraction re-opened in Vlissingen
After one year of existence the LEGO attraction in Vlissingen has moved to a new location, which last week opened its doors to the public. At the LEGO attraction of Stichting Blokje bij Blokje (Brick by Brick Foundation) you can build with LEGOs on Wednesday and Saturday afternoon. There is a children’s play corner, adults can follow a master class and school classes can get technique lessons. In the exhibition area you can admire different models.
